Weight loss

Your personalized path to reclaiming your confidence and feeling your best.

Why weight in midlife gets wonky

Weight gain can happen at any age, but it’s especially—and frustratingly!—common for women in their 40s and 50s. A drop in hormone levels and lean muscle, increased appetite, and changes in fat distribution (with more settling around the middle) creates the perfect storm for gaining an average of 1.5 pounds every year. (These same factors also make it tough to lose weight.) Beyond the ugh of not feeling like yourself (and not fitting into your favorite jeans), being overweight in midlife also comes with a higher risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and some cancers.

“Getting to a healthy weight isn’t about perfection or willpower—it’s about consistency, self-respect, and the courage to start again, every day.

At Coral, we help you build the habits and support system to maintain a healthy weight and live your healthiest life.”

–Fiona Lake Waslander, Cofounder + CEO, Coral

The Coral Difference

Made for midlife

As experts in hormones, metabolism, and lifestyle medicine, we understand how they affect midlife weight gain.

Our Healthy Weight solution supports whole-body health through an empowering team approach. Nurse-led assessments, evidence-based medical treatments, health coaching, and advanced diagnostics help you safely shed unwanted pounds—while adding lean muscle, strengthening bones, and boosting metabolism—so you feel energized and at home in your body again.

Our approach to medication

If you’re a good candidate for medication, such as GLP-1s or GIPs, Coral prescribes lower, personalized doses to help quiet “food noise” in combination with:

  • Protein-rich nutrition to support muscle and metabolism
  • Strength training and movement to support bone and joint health
  • Sleep and stress reduction to improve long-term weight maintenance
  • Healthy food relationships built on awareness, not restriction

Our goal is to help you feel stronger, more energized, and more connected to your health so that your progress continues well after the medication ends.

Top weight-related FAQs

Will I have to take medication like GLP-1s to see results?

Coral’s Healthy Weight solution focuses on a holistic, whole-body approach that includes nutrition, fitness, and sustainable lifestyle changes, and doesn’t require you to be on a GLP-1 or other medication to receive treatment. Your Coral team will determine if you are a good candidate for weight-loss medication based on your labs, health history, and lifestyle.

How is Coral’s Healthy Weight solution different from other weight-loss clinics or apps?

Healthy Weight mitigates the risk of weight regain and lean mass loss by focusing on sustainable lifestyle changes to avoid or minimize the need for long-term medication. It also doesn’t require you to take any weight-loss medication to participate or to see lasting results.

Why is it harder to lose weight during menopause?

Difficulty losing weight during perimenopause and after menopause is mainly related to hormonal changes. The dramatic drop in estrogen can lead to higher insulin levels, contributing to weight gain and increased fat storage. Hormone changes can also disrupt sleep, mood, energy levels, and appetite–all potential barriers to maintaining a healthy weight.
