Menopause care includes the prevention and treatment of symptoms which occur as women experience hormonal and metabolic changes with age. These symptoms include difficulty sleeping, weight gain, hair loss, night sweat, anxiety, emotional imbalances, and many more that can be debilitating. Caring for the symptoms can help women thrive in their prime years.

Where is Coral available?

Coral is available in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia with services offered in both French and English. We’re excited to expand across Canada soon—stay tuned!

Can I meet my Coral provider in person?

Coral is a virtual care clinic, designed to bring expert support wherever you are. Services offered are only available via video and audio appointments, and online chat, all available via the app or web platform.

What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your Coral Nurse will review your intake and test results with you, start discussing health plans based on your unique situation, and answer your questions. Once your nurse has kickstarted your program and depending on your selected solution, you will then have appointments with the rest of your care team. Should you have any questions, your care team is one message away through the Coral app or web platform.

Does your service replace my primary care doctor?

No. Coral is designed to complement, not replace, the care provided by your primary care doctor and is not intended to take the place of appointments with your family physician. We encourage you to maintain an ongoing relationship with your primary care provider to ensure all aspects of your health are addressed. If you do not have an established relationship with a primary care provider, we recommend establishing one.

Is Coral covered by my insurance?

Our services are eligible medical expenses under the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines and may qualify for reimbursement through Health Spending Accounts (HSAs), Private Health Services Plans (PHSPs), Wellness Spending Accounts (WSAs), or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). Coverage varies by insurance provider; please verify eligibility with your insurer.

What type of treatments do you prescribe?

Our treatments vary because there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. We offer holistic plans and prescribe bio-identical hormone therapy, weight loss and other medications when appropriate. Our plans include medical treatments and/or lifestyle interventions proven to help you achieve progress on your health and wellness goals. If you need medication and menopause hormone therapy (formerly HRT or Hormone Replacement Therapy), your healthcare practitioners will discuss those options with you.

How does Coral work?

Coral combines technology, health data, lab testing, 1:1 support, and the latest vetted scientific research to guide and support women through their menopause transition. New members start by completing a medical history, health, and lifestyle questionnaires, along with lab tests. These results are reviewed by a healthcare practitioner, who will conduct a comprehensive health assessment to understand your health and identify the right plan for you.

If prescriptions or additional tests are needed, our team will ensure you get the support you need. Every member receives continuous guidance from our expert coaches and healthcare practitioners, empowering you to take charge of your health and thrive through midlife and beyond.

Perimenopause + menopause

How do I know if what I’m experiencing is perimenopause, menopause, or something else?

Coral’s approach includes comprehensive blood work to get to the root cause of symptoms. While blood tests can confirm menopause (especially when combined with age and the date of your last period), perimenopause is typically diagnosed and treated based on symptoms and health history.

What treatments do you offer and can Coral help me if I’ve already tried hormone therapy or other medications or supplements that didn’t work?

We deliver a personalized approach that combines healthy lifestyle habits, sleep quality assessment, nutrition, physical activity, and stress management, alongside possible hormone therapy or other medications, to relieve hormone-related symptoms. Your Coral team can also make recommendations for supplemental support, such as acupuncture, yoga, cognitive behavioural therapy, and other wellness modalities.

How do I know if hormone therapy is safe for me?

At Coral we believe Informed decision-making in healthcare is a collaborative process between the patient and their clinician to choose the best course of action based on medical information, and the patient’s values, preferences, and personal circumstances. The evidence-based guidelines for hormone therapy are clear for women under 60 or within 10 years of menopause, where the benefits in most cases outweigh the risks. For women 60+, our approach is even more personalized, focusing on symptom intensity, quality of life, and informed decision-making.

When will I start to feel like myself again?

Everyone’s symptoms and treatment plans are different, but 3-6 months is a realistic estimate. After 3 months of Coral care, more than 70% of women reported a reduction in core menopause symptoms.

Weight loss

Will I have to take medication like GLP-1s to see results?

Coral’s Healthy Weight solution focuses on a holistic, whole-body approach that includes nutrition, fitness, and sustainable lifestyle changes, and doesn’t require you to be on a GLP-1 or other medication to receive treatment. Your Coral team will determine if you are a good candidate for weight-loss medication based on your labs, health history, and lifestyle.

How is Coral’s Healthy Weight solution different from other weight-loss clinics or apps?

Healthy Weight mitigates the risk of weight regain and lean mass loss by focusing on sustainable lifestyle changes to avoid or minimize the need for long-term medication. It also doesn’t require you to take any weight-loss medication to participate or to see lasting results.

Why is it harder to lose weight during menopause?

Difficulty losing weight during perimenopause and after menopause is mainly related to hormonal changes. The dramatic drop in estrogen can lead to higher insulin levels, contributing to weight gain and increased fat storage. Hormone changes can also disrupt sleep, mood, energy levels, and appetite–all potential barriers to maintaining a healthy weight.

Longevity

What kinds of tests or insights will I get through Coral?

Coral tests key biomarkers including Complete Blood Count (CBC), Biochemistry panel, Thyroid panel, Lipid panel, Ferritin, Vitamin D, Cortisol, A1c. Fasting Glucose, Fasting Insulin, and more to identify risk factors for chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease, anemia, and osteoporosis.

Is it too late to start focusing on my long-term health?

Our Healthy Aging program is for women 21+ and older, with an emphasis on different aspects of health depending on your decade of life. It’s never too early or too late to focus on creating healthy habits that support your health and independence now and well into the future.

What does “longevity care” mean for women in midlife?

Midlife is the critical time to look ahead and make changes that will significantly impact your well-being at 65 and beyond. At Coral we focus on prevention through sustainable lifestyle changes—including eating, exercise, and sleep habits—possible hormone therapy, and stress management to avoid chronic diseases and maintain independence.
